National Registry Waiver Expires, Drivers Must Rely on MVR for MEC Information

With the exception to Alaska, which is the only state that is not compliant with NRII, all state medical examiners must now electronically transfer the Medical Examiners Certification (MEC) information directly to the states (via the National Registry), which must then post the information to the drivers Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).

Previously, since states weren't prepared for the change (NRII), there was a waiver in place that allowed drivers to carry the physical copy of the MEC for 60 days until they could take it to the state drivers license agency and get it posted to the MVR. That waiver has since expired.
