Indiana Vehicle Temporary Registration Permits Now Valid for 31 Days vs. 45 Days
The Indiana Department of Revenue Motor Carrier Services (MCS) division is changing the validity period of temporary registration permits issued to IRP and BPR customers from 45 days to 31 days. This change is effective Feb. 1, 2026. These permits are a one-time issuance and cannot be extended.

International Roadcheck Results - Over 10,000 Vehicles, 3,000 Drivers Placed OOS
CVSA's International Roadcheck inspection blitz in May of more than 56,000 vehicles yielded more than 10,000 vehicles and 3,000 drivers being placed out of service. Paper Med Card Waiver Extended By FMCSA
FMCSA grants a waiver from certain regulations applicable to interstate commercial driver’s license (CDL) holders, commercial learner’s permit (CLP) holders, and motor carriers to allow them to continue to rely on a paper copy of the medical examiner’s certificate as proof of the driver’s medical certification for up to 60 days after the date the medical examiner’s certificate was issued.
