Indiana Vehicle Temporary Registration Permits Now Valid for 31 Days vs. 45 Days

The Indiana Department of Revenue Motor Carrier Services (MCS) division is changing the validity period of temporary registration permits issued to IRP and BPR customers from 45 days to 31 days. This change is effective Feb. 1, 2026.
These permits are a one-time issuance and cannot be extended.
