American Pyrotechnics Association Members Granted Renewed HOS Exemption for Fireworks Carriers

FMCSA has renewed its "Fireworks" HOS exemption. This is a standard renewal for 44 American Pyrotechnics Association members carrying fireworks.

"The exemptions allow drivers of these companies to exclude off-duty and sleeper berth time of any length from the calculation of the 14-hour limit and to use paper records of duty status (RODS) in lieu of electronic logging devices (ELDs)."

All other HOS regulations still apply.

The exemption is good from 2025 through 2029, but only from June 28 - July 8.
