CVSA's Brake Safety Week Underway
The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance's (CVSA) Brake Safety Week has begun and will run through Aug. 29. This weeklong enforcement initiative is designed to improve brake safety and ensure that CMV's operating on North American highways are operating with properly maintained brakes. CVSA Releases Brake Safety Week Results
During CVSA's Brake Safety Week in August, inspectors throughout North America conducted 15,175 commercial vehicle inspections. Results include: A 15.1% (2,296) out-of-service rate due to brake related violations. OOS brake violations include: defective brakes, brake hoses/tubes, steering axle and air loss rate.
