Last year, the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) voted to approve 17 changes to out-of-service criteria during inspections. Those changes have recently gone into effect. Changes include: Intoxicating Beverages - "Be on Duty or Operate” was amended to state that when the driver is in possession of wine or beer with an alcohol content of 0.5% or more, or any distilled spirit, the driver is out of service.
